One-Day Official Language Workshop on AI and Rajbhasha Organised at NEEPCO, Bokulani

BOKULANI: A one-day Official Language (Rajbhasha) Workshop was successfully organised on August 14, 2026, by the Assam Gas Based Power Station (AGBPS), NEEPCO Limited, Bokulani. The event was held under the aegis of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Duliajan, which operates under the chairmanship of Oil India Limited (OIL), FHQ, Duliajan.

Focus on Artificial Intelligence

The primary theme of the workshop was "Artificial Intelligence and Official Language." The forward-looking topic drew considerable interest from the participants, who exhibited great enthusiasm for leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance the implementation and daily usage of the official language in administrative duties.

Key Attendees and Addresses

The workshop was officially inaugurated under the chairmanship of Shri Opang Ering, Plant Head and Chief General Manager (Technical), NEEPCO. Shri Devanand Das, Assistant Director (Implementation) from the Department of Official Language, Guwahati, graced the occasion as the subject expert.

At the commencement of the event, Shri Shantanu Bezbaruah, Deputy General Manager (Human Resources) at NEEPCO, delivered the welcome address, sharing valuable insights on the synergy between modern artificial intelligence technologies and the official language.

In his inspiring address to the gathering, Shri Opang Ering urged the participants to seamlessly incorporate the knowledge acquired from the workshop into their daily official tasks. He emphasized the importance of encouraging colleagues to use Hindi and called for the broader integration of the official language alongside emerging AI tools.

The event also witnessed the prominent presence of Shri Diganta Deka, Senior Officer (Official Language), OIL, and Member-Secretary of TOLIC, Duliajan.

The capacity-building programme saw active participation from 23 professionals. This included 11 attendees from the NEEPCO office and 12 from various TOLIC (Duliajan) member offices, including:

The insightful workshop concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered jointly by Ms. Sonam Pawar, Executive Trainee (HR), and Shri Tarun Kumar, Senior Hindi Supervisor, who expressed their profound gratitude to the expert guest, management, participants, and the organising committee for making the event a success.
